On Tuesday, July 15th, BOMA Ottawa Executive Director Dean Karakasis had the pleasure of attending an exclusive dinner hosted by the Real Estate Institute of Canada (REIC) as part of their national Coast-to-Coast dinner series. Held in Ottawa and hosted by REIC CEO Don Inouye, the evening brought together a dynamic group of real estate leaders for lively discussion on emerging issues and opportunities in the industry.

The guest list reflected the strength and diversity of Canada’s real estate community, including former BOMA Ottawa President and longtime REIC member Franco Falbo, Janice Myers, CEO of the Canadian Real Estate Association, Linda Kristal, VP Advocacy at CREA, Coleen Volk, CEO of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Nicole Christy, CEO of the Ottawa Real Estate Board, Brandyn Hayes of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, Eric Van Hofwegen of Royal LePage Commercial, Subhir Uppal, President of Metro Homes, along with several Ottawa-based REIC members and staff.

The evening sparked thoughtful conversation and a shared commitment to greater collaboration across associations. With wide-ranging insights and a strong spirit of cooperation, the event laid the groundwork for future partnerships and joint initiatives.

Just two days later, on Thursday, BOMA Ottawa’s Peg Gallison, Senior Manager, Events and Member Programs, joined several BOMA members at REIC’s annual golf tournament. The day on the greens was another great opportunity to connect with industry peers, strengthen relationships, and continue BOMA’s commitment to working alongside like-minded organizations in advancing the real estate profession.
